I don't like Ms. Denny's class. It seems all we can ever do is talk about women's oppression. I see no point in this as I am not a woman, nor do I opress them. In fact, I find the topic rather frusterating. God did not make man and woman equal in all aspects. If this were the case there wouldn't be man and woman, there would be something more like moman... or maman...
Anyhow, I'm tired of listening to how poor and mistreated women are, because they aren't. They're given more opportunities for success than men, and for no other reason than the fact that we as a people are lead to believe that men are still opressing them.
This is a page I found on the net that basically summarizes my way of thinking at the moment. Feel free to respond regardless of standing on the issue.

amen, chris. I totally agree. I think feminism is great and all- the idea that men and women are equal and deserve opportunities. I support that, so i'm pretty sure that makes me a feminist. But, I don't think you can really call women "opressed," anymore. Sure, there are little injustices now and then, but i think everyone, at sometime will be treated unfairly based on their race/gender. If you've read chapter two in A Room of One's Own, it talks about how some people need to oppress others in order to feel their superiority and therefore, worth. I think that's true of raging feminists. But on another note, i think it was pretty freakin' hilarious to hear ms denny talk about how she could take out jay holloway...
For real. I am not a feminazi, but I don't really think it to be accurate to say that women arent oppressed. Women are, and so are men. Mostly now it is emotionally, not so much socially.
Just a thinker; maybe even if something doesnt directly effect you, you should still think about it or learn about it. It's fun, like physics.
I saw this cool scene the other day that this post kind of reminds me of. A husband and wife are fighting and the wife says...
Wife: You think you're a "real man" 'cuz you're all macho and shit. Well, you're wrong. You wanna know what a real man is? A real man is kind, and compassionate, and comforting, and tender-
Husband: Oh yeah? And what's a woman?
Wife: A woman is... brave, and strong...
Anyhow, I just thought it was interesting. It makes me kind of think gender roles are switching in this country, but it accomplishes the same end. Fine by me, anyway. I wouldn't mind raising the children and staying home while the woman can pursue the career she wants so bad for some reason. I always thought they kind of had it nice.
